July 2nd, Terry was wanting to get the BIG GREEN EGG to set inside the stand. Just too heavy, even for Popeye! So, as we stood there and deliberated, we decided we would TRY IT OURSELVES>! Bad idea! Of course, Terry took most of the brunt of the weight of it and as luck would have it, his finger got caught! For a minute I thought he had cut off the tip of his finger, omg, so much blood! He kept it under running water for 30 minutes and STILL bleeding. I made him call Donnie and he said he'd come by and look at it on his way to his mother's b'day party. He did and taped it up for him. It is better now, but it did bleed during the night for a couple of nights. Probably needed stitches but , YOU KNOW MEN!!!! LOL!
We had a nice quiet July 4th! The MOST QUIET since our very first one , back in 1971~ HAHA! All the kids were gone or had plans so it was Me and Big T! He cooked a Boston Butt all night long in the "egg" and by morning, it was falling off the bone (oh wow, NOW I remember why hated leaving our old Green Egg in Riverchase!).We had so much that I froze some to take on our beach trip coming up! Also I made a peach cobbler (again!) and CORN. MY corn (white corn) will be fixed tonight--my favorite, FRIED corn. UMM, Umm, GOOD!

P.S. those horrid armadillos were caught on film, by ME, as they ran thro, as a HERD day before yesterday! OMG, I screamed as I made the picture. THRO THE WINDOW, I might add. Yes, there were FIVE of those horrible creatures galloping by! UGH!

Doc Cantley came to the rescue!

Helped him tape it up!

Big Gree EGG!

THis is what happens when you let your WIFE help you put the  Egg in the stand!
