Summer ending already?

I can't believe it's been so long since I've blogged. (A year ago I blogged for 40+ days in a row during Lent! Maybe I blogged TOO much (duh!), but now I thought I'd update on here a bit!)!

We started off the summer having a "Gender Reveal" for Patrick and Kelley! And...guess what color we will be using come November! BLUE!!!! Patrick and Kelley are welcoming a new baby boy in November....Jase! We are so excited for them and Ryder, too!  We will then have 10 grands! All ours (no yours, mine or ours, lol). Six boys and Four girls!  We all got together at Vestavia Bowl for Carter/Ryder's combined b'day party in May and that was a hoot. The cousins had a blast. (and the adult "kids" enjoyed bowling as well!)! we also enjoyed Blakely's dancing recital/ Ella Kate's Dancing Recital and Daisy's piano recitals!

Would you believe the Cullens talked me into going back to WDW at the end of June? And I said "YES"! Also we took Daisy! Jon's dad/step mom went to and met us there. We had a blast, as usual! WHAT A FUN "SPUR OF THE MOMENT" VACA!

Terry and I went to Cancun to celebrate my birthday for July 17th. We had a ball. We stayed at the Le Blanc Hotel, an all inclusive resort and we never left the premises until we left to go to the airport and home. It's a beautiful place , we have stayed there before, and we love it. So quiet (NO children under age 18) and so clean and beautiful. Each floor has it's own Butler and ours was fantastic. Terry told him it was my birthday so he and his crew decorated my room full of balloons/rose petals/champagne and even had "happy Birthday Janice" on the screen on the T.V. ! It was a great day!!! We had dinner on the beach and it was just perfect!!! We also had some professional pictures made, like we did when we went to Hawaii. This guy was fantastic! he kept us laughing and made us feel young again! He even got me to climb up a huge rock on the beach with Terry for a photo shot. I'm used to being on the other side of the lens so this was hard, to be the subjects!

The grands are all doing great. Lily has been gone all summer so I haven't seen her but once! Powell and Blakely have been doing soccer/ Bible School/ etc. and Kemp/Daisy(and mom and dad, lol)  MOVED to their new townhome that overlooks Ross Bridge Proper and the pool there. They LOVE it. Some really exciting things for them this summer, but that will have to be another blog post!!! It's pretty special!!! Her band has also started playing around town and she is enjoying that, too!

The Hornes aren't the only ones who moved, so did the Cullens! For now, apartment living in Ross Bridge across the street and down some, from the Hornes!  They will do like Nat/Brad did---decide
where they want to live. For sure, Katie/jon wanted Carter to go to Deer Valley so that is where he will be! He and Ryder both will be in K-5. Carter at DVS and Ryder at Calera Elementary.  Ella Kate will be going to Hunter Street Baptist Kindergarten and only Beckett will be not going anywhere the coming Fall!

So, that's a quick update! I'm getting some ideas from Pinterest for my Sunday School Class at
Christ the King Anglican church (we meet at Samford). I have some "newbies" coming up this year, too! I have to keep them on their toes as they are smart/sweet and very knowledgable about the Bible! I should say I have to stay on MY toes!

Terry and I still are tossing around the idea of  1. a boat or 2. a small house at the beach. He would
love to retire and that is where he wants to go. So, if we get a boat, we can stay on it for a couple of weeks at a time or if we find a little house, stay there for several weeks at a time. His dream is to move there permanently but I haven't totally agreed to that one yet!!!

Here's some pictures (surprise/surprise) of the past fews months since I'm so behind! Until next time!

P.S. this blog drives me nuts loading pix! (one reason it's taken me so long to post again. It won't let me move them in order, so just figure out when these were made! SOME may be even in there twice!

Disney World: Fry, Cullen and Horne Style! DAY ONE! (Disney Springs)

After a week in Orlando, I am just now getting all my (MANY) photos loaded of our FANTASTIC trip to Walt Disney World ! It was so much fun! I just wish all the Frys could've been there!  School and work kept some out of the loop but hopefully, next time! This trip was : Natalie, Brad, Kemp,Daisy, Jon, Katie, Carter, Ella Kate, Beckett and...ME! We celebrated Beckett's first birthday while there! He had just gotten tubes in his ears a few days prior to leaving, so he was a bit puny for the first couple of days. (but, he still hardly ever cries!)! Natalie/Brad/Kids went down a day early and got to visit with Brad's Uncle Joe! So, that was a great time for them . Also, we listened to the Ala/AU game on the way down and finished listening as we walked around the newly renovated "Disney Springs" (it's awesome!).  Oh, and ROLL TIDE! (sorry Jon! lol)

I did a little "interview" with the kids to find out what they liked best! Here's what they said....

Daisy: she liked riding the "Runaway Mine Car" (7 dwarfs ride) and laughing at me holding tight to her hand! she also liked the "Dinner at 1900 Park Fare" with the Mean Stepmother and stepsisters!! And I think she had a little crush on the Prince! that night she enjoyed wearing her tutu and shirt that matched Ella Kate! She loved meeting all the characters, too.

Kemp: Kemp LOVED Space Mountain/ Runaway Mine Car/ Thunder Mountain/ Everest! All the fast and crazy rides! But, I also think he got a kick out of meeting some of the crazy characters. He loved "Goofy Golf" and just hanging with his family! He also loved  "Mickey's Christmas Party" that we went to on the last night. He said he also loved staying at the Contemporary where the monorail went through our hotel.

Carter: Hands down: Buzz Lightyear's Ride! And ALL the rides! He loved every minute of everything!!!!! He loved meeting Stitch and Goofy! He loved the "JINGLE Cruise" (aka as "Jungle Cruise").  Oh, and he loved riding the monorail to different "Character Dining" that we went to during the stay.

Ella Kate: Needless to say , the PRINCESSES were her fav! She LOVED each and every one of them. And cried to ride the Carousel about a hundred times! She also enjoyed "It's a Small World" and PIRATES of Caribbean ! Her fav was the sit down dinner at Cinderella's Castle!

Over and over  Nat, Brad, Jon and Katie would tell me "this was the most fantastic trip, ever!". It really was! Only a few mishaps: Daisy was sick on afternoon ("Disneyitis"--too much fun/rides/late nights) and I had  terrible blisters on my feet (yes, as always!) and I think we all were coughing and sneezing at one point. But , thankfully, nothing kept us from the fun we had thanks to cold meds and advil!

The weather? Couldn't have been more spectacular! Hot days (yes, hot!) and cool nights (not too cool!).  Crowds? not nearly as many as we were thinking would be there! Most rides didn't have long lines at all!

All in all we had THE most fabulous time!!!!!!!!! So much so, Katie/Jon went ahead and booked for next year! And invited me !  yes, I'm back in!

I'm going to post highlight pix for a few days b/c they're that good!  We didn't see the Hornes until Sunday night so the first day is just with the Cullens. We met them at "Goofy Golf" on Sunday night . (a week ago ! WAAA)

If you've never been to Disney World during Christmas, enjoy seeing all the beautiful decorations and I loved the gorgeous "Gingerbread House" at the Grand Floridian hotel.

So, take a little trip with us and pretend you went along with us!
lots of naps on the way down

I wonder how many pictures have been made of this sign?!?!?!?!

so much fun to be there during Christmas time!

You can tell ALABAMA is winning! LOL!

Lucky Kids! One of Katie's sweet friends had special gifts sent to our room!
