WOW, I just realized I am SOOOO far behind in my blogging! I've been busy with one thing or another and putting off loading pix and blogging! Well, today is the day to catch up!!!!....Big T and I went with Charles, Rachel, Blakely, Powell and Nana (Rachel's mom) to Cashier's , N.C. over the 4th of July. We stayed a few days with them in a house they stay in each year. It is GORGEOUS up there and a great break from the 107 degree heat that we were having here in the 'Ham!!!!! Even the drive up was beautiful---gorgeous trees/fauna/flowers. We drove up and up the mountain, and as we went thro Georgia/South Carolina and then North Carolina it was all so beautiful and COOLER! The house they stay in is really lovely...big with a cozy upstairs room where Big T and I slept. The downstairs back window has a huge A frame window and you can see the mountain behind it. Beautiful. Of course, the kids favorite thing is the GOLF CART! HAHA! They loved that golf cart, which is how we got around the whole time. There is an Inn on the property and that is where all the action takes place! A big lake for swimming/ swings for the kids/golf/hiking. We hiked on a pretty good jaunt thro the woods and it was stunning with all the trees and ferns and just the "smell" of damp earth and moss. Love that smell! They took us to see the horses and then the most special---a treehouse hidden in the woods! Big beautiful tree house! So awesome! ...The 4th of July was unreal! It is a HUGE deal there and everyone decorates their golf carts and goes to the Inn for a huge Bar-B-Q. It was sooo much fun!!! The kids ate great/the square dancers were cute/the ambiance was memorable!!! We stayed until dusk then went back to put Miss B to bed and then Charles/Rachel and I took Powell for "smores" and fireworks. Powell was beside himself with joy!!! What a great night!!!!...We had a wonderful time with Charles/Rachel and kids b/c we don't see them as much since they are further away so it was great to have some one on one time with them. I HOPE we get invited back next year! :)
